Somalia: reconciliatory meeting adjourned, Galmudug boycotts it

Mogadishu, Sept. 24, 2018 (hornnews24.com) – A reconciliatory meeting announced by the president of Somalia Farmajo and aimed at resolving the political stand-off among Galmudug State leaders in Somali has been postponed.

This follows after the President of Galmudug State, Ahmed Dualleh Gelleh Haf, had boycotted the meeting which was scheduled to be held in Mogadisu at the end of this month under the auspices of the federal government.

President Haf has accused the federal government of interfering his administration’s internal affairs adding that such interferences led a gridlock. He asserted that Mogadishu could not be accepted as mediator let alone to find solutions to the existing stalemate.

President Haf was one of the leaders of Somalia’s Federal Member States (FMS) who had suspended ties with the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) in what appeared to be a blow to the already weak relationship between the two.
