Somalia: Kenyan military plane crashes at Dhobley airport

Dhobley, August 4, 2020 – A light Kenyan military plane has crashed last night at Dhobley airport in Somalia’s lower Jubba Region, leaving a thick black smoke visible for miles.

According to the reports, the plane crashed just as it landed and burst into flames. The pilot was among those killed.

Local media reported that the plane was carrying military equipment for the Kenyan troops stationed in Somalia.

It is not clear what caused the crash of the aircraft just minutes before it landed.   Neither Kenya nor Somalia has so far commented on the cause of the crash.
