Mogadishu, August 3, 2020 (hornnews24) – Somalia government has lifted a ban on international flights. The ministry of transport and aviation has announced that all international flights would resume from Monday, August 3, 2020.
According to the ministry protective screens have been installed in key areas, including the check-in and security halls, and passengers will be asked to observe safe, physical distancing wherever possible.
Flights were banned in March after Somalia recorded its first case of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The government also announced that schools and universities would resume on August 15.
A nighttime curfew remains in effect in the capital Mogadishu between 20:00 and 05:00 (local time).
