Somalia: Alshabaab court executes three people including a woman

Jilib, August 5, 2018 ( – An Islamic court of Somalia’s Al-Qaida-linked group, Alshabaab, has executed on Saturday three people among them a woman in Jilib town of the Middle Jubba Region, in South Somalia.

One of those executed, Mohamad Abdi Abshir, 32, was found guilty of killing late Abdirahman Abdi Warsameh whose family refused to accept blood money or forgive the murderer but insisted on the execution of the killer.

Likewise, Alshabaab executed yesterday in Jilib town two soldiers who were cuptured while fighting when the group launched recently an offensive on a military base at Sanguni village near Kismaio town. One of the two soldiers was a woman.  An Islamic court found them guilty of apostasy.

Alshabaab believes that all those who work with or support the foreign forces in Somalia and the Somali government have committed apostasy and should be executed.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “It is not permissible to shed the blood of a Muslim who bears witness that there is no god except Allaah and that I am His Messenger, except in one of three cases: a soul for a soul (i.e., in the case of murder); a married man who commits adultery; and one who leaves his religion).

According to Alshabaab’s version of Islam, it is permissible to kill any one who supports the Somali government and the foreign forces in the country
