Galmudug politicians: Somali premier further splits Galmudug State

Adado, July 1 (Hornnews24) – A meeting held on Monday in Adado town of Galmudug provincial state has censured Somalia’s prime minister for failing to fulfil his promises after he reached he reached a unilateral agreement with Ahlusunna faction leaders, a deal which could worsen the situation and further devide the state.

The meeting which brought together intellectuals, personalities, traditional community leaders and politicians of Galmudug State underscored that the premier had pledged first that reconciliation conference would be held in Adado town for the unification of all the apposing parts of the state.

The participants revealed that the premier had unexpectedly announced last night that the reconciliation conference would be held in Dhusamareb town, the strong hold of louche religious faction which was attributed to the divisive political turmoil of the region.

The meeting termed such a deal as unacceptable and detrimental to the cohesion of the communities.

In another development, the leader of the Puntland Regional State, Said Abdullahi Deni, has called on the Somali government to refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of Galmudug and Jubbaland States.
