Mogadishu, June 16, 2018 (Hornnews24.net) A high level delegation led by the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, have arrived today (Saturday) at the Adan Addeh international Airport of Mogadishu amid huge security precautions in the city.
The Ethiopian Prime minister and his delegation were cordially received at the airport by the Somali president Mohamed Abdullaahi Farnmo and other officials. Security was extensively tightened by Somali and foreign forces.
During his several-day visit in Mogadishu, the Ethiopian prime minister, will held talks on bilateral relations and on security issues with the Somali leaders.
Ethiopia has released many Somali prisoners form its jails and the Somali prime minister has also recently visited Ethiopia. Ethiopia and Somali share borders and Ethiopian forces are currently stationed in many parts of Somali to help the Somali government flash out Alshabaab fighters although still in vain.
Both Ethiopia and Somalia belong to several regional bodies including the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (Igad) and The African Union (AU) while Ethiopian Generals freely operate in towns of Somalia with their own staffers as they established a network of spies and other institutions.
