Mogadishu, November 17, 2018 (hornnews24) – Somalia’s Islamic fighters known as Harakat Almujahedeen have on Saturday killed two Ugandan soldiers and wounded several others.
The group has annihilated AMISOM armoured vehicle killing two of its Ugandan occupants in Heliwa district of the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
According to initial reports a landmine explosion struck a military convoy carrying African Union peacekeepers in Somalia destroying at least one military armoured vehicle.
The roadside bomb has torn through an armoured vehicle carrying Ugandan Soldiers which was a part of AMISOM convoy.
There was no immediate response from AMISOM on the attack but Alshabaab Fighters have confirmed that they carried out the assault.
The Al-Qaida-linked group has intensified attacks on both Somali government army and AMISOM forces. The Islamic fighters fight for toppling Somalia’s central government and expelling the foreign forces out of Somalia to impose on Somalia the full implementation of the Islamic Sharia law.
