Alshabaab parades corpses of slain soldiers and captured military equipment

Mogadishu, Sept. 15, 2018 (hornnews24) – Al-Qaeda’s Somalia branch, Alshabaab, has paraded on Saturday several bodies of slain Somali government soldiers killed in a fighting between the group and US and US trained Somali troops at Mubaarak settlement, a central village located approximately 37 miles west of Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

American and Somali troops backed by helicopter gunships launched an offensive on Alshabaab base at the village prompting heavy fighting between the two sides.

Radio Andulus affiliated with Alshabaab had reported that Alshabaab repulsed the attack routing the attackers in disarray,

According to reports, at least 10 Somali government soldiers and two US soldiers were killed in the fighting. Residents of the area have confirmed seeing bodies of government soldiers lying on the ground. 

US Forces Africa Command (AFRICOM) press release confirmed the fighting saying that that Al-Qaeda’s Somalia branch attacked US and partner forces, resulting in casualties on both sides without giving details.

The US-trained special Somali forces left behind corpses and military equipment. Al-Qaida-Linked Alshabaab has paraded today those corpses and equipments left behind by the Somali and US forces after their defeat.
